As Christians, We Messed Up… Big Time!

The 3 Decisions That Ruined Modern-Day Christianity

4 min readMar 15, 2025

Around this time last year, I wrote an article talking about the current state of Christianity and Catholicism specifically. Back then, I noticed a trend online where Christians were becoming less and less bold to speak about or defend the faith, and unbelievers more and more confident in trashing our religion.

The more Christians I spoke to about this, the more I was told that Christianity is about “acceptance” and “keeping the peace.” We were not supposed to upset the common sensibilities of society or stir up any uncomfortable thoughts in the minds of everyday people. As long as people were living an “okay life,” not hurting anyone or doing anything illegal, we weren’t supposed to “force our religion down their throats.”

Everything sounded logical and sound, until I thought about it for more than 10 seconds.

This is Christianity we’re talking about. This isn’t some new age feel-good ideology. This is what the Son of God came to die for; what the early Christians would rather die than give up speaking about.

Actually, they did die. More accurately, they were persecuted and murdered in broad daylight for refusing to shut up.

How did we go from “sing it from the rooftops” Christianity, to “just mind your business”?

I think it happened slowly, over a period of years, starting somewhere in the late 20th…
